Their Memorial is a VR scenography highlighting the environmental issue of animal endangerment in Australia by offering extinct and endangered animals a memorial and envisioning a second future life for them in a VR world. The work includes three virtual worlds that the participant enters linearly, and each one expands more in terms of completeness. The work uses a combination of 360-degree video and VR world construction to create a time capsule between the past, present and future. In each world, the participant’s perspective switches from a VR viewer to an extinct, soon-to-be-buried animal, which then becomes a spirit in the last world.
